The Problem

Sunken Concrete in Berlin? Here Is What It Costs You

Settlement rarely announces itself. These are the four ways homeowners usually notice, and every one of them gets worse through a freeze-thaw winter.

A Lip That Catches Toes

A stepped joint on a walkway or entry is a liability the day someone goes over it. And it grows every winter rather than settling down.

Water Running at the House

Once a slab tilts, roof and surface runoff heads for the foundation instead of away from it. A few degrees of lost pitch does that.

A Tear-Out Quote You Hate

Demolition, a week without the driveway, the landscaping wrecked, and a bill several times what a lift costs. Most of the time it is not necessary.

Doors and Thresholds Out of Line

A sunken garage or basement slab pulls thresholds, frames and doors out of alignment. The door is the symptom; the floor is the cause.

How It Works

How the Lift Works, Start to Finish

Most residential jobs are done inside a day, and the slab carries load again before we pack up.

01

Free Inspection

We look at the slab, sound it for voids, measure the drop and tell you in writing what it needs, including when that is replacement.

02

Penny-Sized Ports

A planned pattern of 5/8-inch holes goes through the slab. Compare that to the 2-3 inch holes mudjacking needs.

03

Inject and Lift

Two-part expanding polyurethane fills the cavity first, then lifts the slab back to grade in monitored increments.

04

Patch and Go

Ports patched, site cleaned, foam at load-bearing strength in 15-30 minutes. Most driveways take a car before we leave.

Not Sure Whether to Lift It or Replace It?

Same-day or next-day. The on-site inspection and the written quote cost nothing, and if replacement is the better buy we will say so.

Working Around Berlin: Access, Roads and Landmarks

This is home. We work out of a unit on the Berlin Turnpike, minutes from Kensington, East Berlin and the streets off Worthington Ridge, which is why local jobs usually get looked at same-day or next.

Route 9, Route 72 and Route 372 put the whole town inside ten minutes of the shop, and Berlin station on the Hartford Line sits in the middle of it. Being this close means no travel premium and no waiting a fortnight for someone to measure a drop.

This is our home town, which means same-day or next-day looks and no travel loading on the quote.

Landmarks We Work Around

  • Berlin Turnpike
  • Berlin station (Hartford Line)
  • Timberlin Golf Course
  • Ragged Mountain Memorial Preserve
  • Berlin Fair Grounds

How We Get to You

Our unit is on the Berlin Turnpike itself, so Route 9, Route 72 and Route 372 put every street in town inside ten minutes of the shop.

Getting There

This Is Where We Work From

Our address is 300 Berlin Turnpike, Unit 148. Local jobs get same-day or next-day response because there's no travel to schedule around - the rig is already here.

That matters most for the small urgent things: a stoop corner that dropped before a family visit, a walkway lip someone nearly went over, an apron letting meltwater into a garage. Here those don't need to wait for a block of work in the area, because this is the area.

Local Conditions

Turnpike Commercial and Worthington Ridge Homes

Berlin's housing runs from older Worthington Ridge properties through post-war Kensington streets to newer development on the east side, and the flatwork fails accordingly. On the older stock it's tired base under original driveways and short stoops. On the post-war streets it's the familiar apron-and-walkway pattern. On the newer parcels it's fill that hasn't finished consolidating.

The Berlin Turnpike corridor adds a commercial layer - entrance slabs, parking-area settlement and loading approaches on retail and light industrial property, all of which get scheduled around trading hours.

Local Answers

Berlin Concrete Leveling Questions, Answered

How fast can you get to a property in town?

Same day or next day in most cases. We're at 300 Berlin Turnpike, so there's no travel window to schedule around.

Do you cover Kensington and East Berlin?

Yes - Kensington, East Berlin, Worthington Ridge and the Turnpike corridor are all home ground.

Is there a minimum job size?

No. A single stoop corner or one walkway slab is a normal booking here, because we don't have to justify a trip to look at it.

Do you do commercial work along the Berlin Turnpike?

Yes. Entrance slabs, walkways, parking-area settlement and loading approaches, scheduled around trading hours so the site keeps operating.

Still have a question?

The on-site inspection answers it properly. We look at your actual slab and put the answer in writing, and it's free either way.
