Recognise Any of These Around Windsor?
Settlement rarely announces itself. These are the four ways homeowners usually notice, and every one of them gets worse through a freeze-thaw winter.
A Lip That Catches Toes
A stepped joint on a walkway or entry is a liability the day someone goes over it. And it grows every winter rather than settling down.
Water Running at the House
Once a slab tilts, roof and surface runoff heads for the foundation instead of away from it. A few degrees of lost pitch does that.
A Tear-Out Quote You Hate
Demolition, a week without the driveway, the landscaping wrecked, and a bill several times what a lift costs. Most of the time it is not necessary.
Doors and Thresholds Out of Line
A sunken garage or basement slab pulls thresholds, frames and doors out of alignment. The door is the symptom; the floor is the cause.

The Job in Four Steps
Most residential jobs are done inside a day, and the slab carries load again before we pack up.
Free Inspection
We look at the slab, sound it for voids, measure the drop and tell you in writing what it needs, including when that is replacement.
Penny-Sized Ports
A planned pattern of 5/8-inch holes goes through the slab. Compare that to the 2-3 inch holes mudjacking needs.
Inject and Lift
Two-part expanding polyurethane fills the cavity first, then lifts the slab back to grade in monitored increments.
Patch and Go
Ports patched, site cleaned, foam at load-bearing strength in 15-30 minutes. Most driveways take a car before we leave.

Our Patch of Windsor, in Detail
River-influenced ground keeps things damp through Poquonock, Wilson and the meadows near the Farmington River, and damp ground moves. Foam is hydrophobic, so it displaces that water rather than absorbing it, which is why it holds where a slurry fill would not.
I-91, Route 75 and Route 305 bring us up past the Day Hill Road corporate corridor and Northwest Park. Around the old Town Green the walkways are original and stone-edged, and lifting keeps the edging and the planting exactly where they are.
Damp river-side ground handled with hydrophobic foam that displaces water instead of washing out the way slurry can.

Twenty Miles Up the River Side
Windsor is about 20 miles north of Berlin. That's a scheduled inspection rather than a same-day call, and we say so at booking. The inspection and written quote are free here the same as everywhere else we work.
Damp Ground and What It Does to a Base
Windsor mixes genuinely old housing stock around the Center with post-war and later development out toward Poquonock and Deerfield. The older properties have shallow, tired bases under original walkways and steps; the newer ones have fill that's still settling.
The Connecticut and Farmington river influence keeps parts of the town damp, and damp ground moves fines. Where a slab sits over a base that never dries out, the void grows steadily rather than in the sharp seasonal steps you see on higher ground.
Concrete Lifting FAQs for Windsor
Do you serve Windsor from Berlin?
Yes, at about 20 miles it's a scheduled inspection rather than same-day. The inspection and written quote are still free.
The ground here stays wet. Will foam work?
Yes - polyurethane is hydrophobic and displaces water rather than absorbing it. Damp river-influenced ground is exactly where it outperforms mudjacking slurry.
Can old walkways near the Center be lifted?
Usually. Condition matters more than age - intact sections with clean cracks lift well, and there's no demolition access needed on a period property.
Still have a question?
The on-site inspection answers it properly. We look at your actual slab and put the answer in writing, and it's free either way.
